We agree with compliments of other reviewers. Lovely lakeside state park; lake level is up, cable TV is working, TV antenna reception and Verizon signal are good. THE WATER PRESSURE AT OUR LAKESIDE SITE WAS 80 POUNDS WITH NO WARNING AT CHECK IN. Bring your pressure reducer.

This is a lovely campground with 23 RV sites with tables and steel fireplaces arranged around a bath / shower building. Generous site size. No hookups: if you want hookups and conveniences go somewhere else. It's ten minutes off Mass Pike at 317 Woodland Road in Lee, MA. There are signs in Lee pointing the way. Open mid-May through mid-October.

Lovely, thoughtfully designed park typical of Georgia State Parks. Sites are all marked for tent or RV so we shouldn't see the guy with the bicycle and miniature tent in the 60 foot pull through. Some tight turns on interior roads. We will go there again.

Interstate 20, exit 169, and look for 1115 E Campground Road. Cable TV had few channels and poor reception; we did much better with our antenna. All sites are pull through. There is a laundry, and a store. We felt it was overpriced at $40. There is highway noise.

Lots of facilities; pool, hot tub, laundry, cable TV. Lots of I-10 highway noise. After we set up, I looked in the brochure for cable channels, only to find "Please inquire at office for listing". So I trudged to the office to pick up a half page channel guide. Suggested to somewhat disinterested office attendant that it would be nice to hand them out at registration. I can't figure out whether they are mean, thoughtless, or trying to save money. There is an on-site RV repair business; I have no information about quality of repair business. We will use this park for an overnight again.

Nice campground with large pine trees and spacious sites. Friendly manager appears to be the only staff person. Building containing rest rooms and laundry is old, but adequate. Significant highway noise. We will stay there again.

We stayed at this RV park because of favorable ratings and because it is open all year. Stayed one night in a pull through. OK park somewhat overpriced. High water pressure with no warning. In addition to customary registration stuff, I had to sign a separate document promising to read and follow park regulations! Really! We liked the ambitious recycling program and will stay there again.

101 Bell Acres, Enfield, a very quiet location. Our pull through site was spacious and level. There are large pine trees. Phone signal good for AT&T and Verizon. There is Propane available. We will stay here again. There is no recycling center.

Nice park, nice staff, full hookups, pull throughs, lots of highway noise. Best cable TV setup we have ever seen. Each site has a rack with about 20 feet of cable wound on it; very easy to connect. We will go there again.

725 Lucy Bryson Street. A good Sam park. Nicely separated sites that are extremely well maintained. There are frequent patrols by a marked security vehicle. There was little road noise, some railroad rumblings but no train horns. Complimentary buffet breakfast passes are given at registration. Friendly, capable, and competent staff. There is propane on the property. No recycling set up. We will stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this park, located just off I-20, to be quiet (freeway is elevated here). Nice park with propane and laundry on site. Pull throughs. Sites are side by side with little room between rigs. We will go there again. I had my Texas vehicle inspections done at RV World repair shop next door (service, no RV sales - my kind of place). Judging by shop appearance and technicians I would expect this to be a very good repair facility.

This is one of our favorite places. As another reviewer noted "A good place to get the knots out of your rope". There are now a few 50 amp sites, all are full hookups. No Verizon or AT&T cell service (a plus or minus according to your preferences). If necessary they will lend their land line telephone for $1 charge. There is satellite TV in office. Cable TV runs off a local antenna, about 6 channels may be good or non-existent depending on weather. Owners and employees are friendly and laid back. Oddly, they don't seem to have an answering machine.

I visited this park in the early 1990's; at that time it was a traditional RV park with hot spring facilities. They have installed 30 "cabins" (small mobile homes) which are rented out. Many are occupied by long term or permanent residents. Depending on the time of year there may be 4 to 15 "cabins" available for short term rentals. There are eight RV sites with 25 foot length limit and two at 30 feet. We parked our 30 foot fiver on the long site (N); it took moderate side to side leveling and a lot of front to rear leveling. There is an olympic size heated (not hot) pool and a hot pool. Facilities are shabby but in working order. Massage and a water aerobics class are available. Entrance to the pools is $10 per person per day. The weekly RV rate is $250 (about $36 per day) which includes free pool access, so if two persons use the pools daily, the cost of the RV site (minus $20 pool fee savings) is about $16 per day. There is an Italian restaurant on site http://www.mamasmeatball.com/ which has excellent and reasonably priced food, same menu for lunch and for dinner, closed Sundays. Dining room seats about 50 and is staffed by a cook and 3 assistants who take orders, serve food, and bus dishes, so waits can be very long on busy days. Lots of traffic noise including hordes of motorcycles on weekends, but traffic is light during the night. Few barking dogs, few children, no mowers or leaf blowers - hooray. We would stay here again.

To begin with, this park is hard to find; the sign is broken. It is just west of highway 1 (Main Street) at 1021 S Main Street on the south end of the Noyo River bridge; watch for the Cliff House restaurant sign. We visited several RV parks in the area; they all (including this one) seem to have come from the same plan - sites too close together, neglected appearance, and used more as low - rent permanent sites than RV parks. This park is distinguished by its stunning location and views. Noyo River to the north, a large and very beautiful Pomo Bluffs city park and Pacific ocean to the west. Gorgeous sunsets, clouds, fog. Power, water, and cable all work. In spite of the park's appearance, we felt comfortable and secure. We enjoyed our 10 day stay and will stay here again.

We stayed 5 nights. Although the park is in an industrial area, it is quite attractive; sculpted Cypress trees, flower beds, well maintained. There are mostly long term residents. It was quiet at night; we noticed no odors. We've been full timing for 10 years, have seen many owners, managers, and hosts. This manager was one of the best we've seen; friendly, efficient, helpful. He was waiting when we arrived for our reservation and promptly guided us to our site. The park is nearly full with long term residents, so I suggest early reservations. We would stay here again.

We would call this "An Unlikely Place". Surrounding terrain for miles is dry, almost desert strewn with volcanic rock. A very nice asphalt road from the highway to the Golf / RV resort. An oasis. We agree with the compliments of others. Twelve feet of healthy, well cared for grass between sites. Other campers were unusually considerate and quiet. Few dogs or children. Crushed rock interior roads and pads. Scattered evergreen trees mature at about 20 feet high, don't give much shade. Water pressure = 12. Restaurant has diner menu; huge portions of very good food. Quiet and peaceful here. We would come here again.

We arrived on a Tuesday without reservations. They must, however, take reservations because they were expecting park to be filled by a group on Thursday. They did take my credit card. Nice park with good separation and healthy well cared for lawns between sites. I counted 6 young trees about 6 feet tall. No shade. Entrance and entrance sign are difficult to find or see. There was moderate street noise day and night. Friendly, helpful staff. We would come here again.

This park has quite a few long term residents that we did not perceive as a problem. Full hookups for less than $30. Adequate sites, close to highway (in town), but we were not bothered by street noise. We would go there again. Sign in is at motel office. We would stay there again.

They are trying, but can't seem to get it all together. Water and electric service are now enclosed in quaint little sheds. No camp fire rings and no evidence of having them in the past. (There is a statewide ban on open fires.) Many of the tables have been refurbished with attractive 2 X 12" boards with clear sealer. The water faucet threads at our site were about an inch off the ground; we hooked up to a vacant neighboring site. The 50 amp service is equipped with ground fault circuit interrupters which are incompatible with many RV's. One of the several permanent residents across from the office keeps a dog tied outside; dog barks continuously from 10 AM to 6 PM. Sites are fairly well separated, about 10 yards apart. Gravel road and grassy sites. Ground is lumpy but not hard to get leveled; we just moved the rig a few feet until the lumps fit the tires. Quiet at night. Overall, not a bad place. We would stay there again.

Good Sam park. We agree with other's favorable comments. No fires or charcoal allowed while we were there (late July) due to high fire danger in area. Two attractive nearly new buildings; one rec hall, the other rest rooms and laundry. Paved interior roads with mostly level gravel sites. Earth appears to be largely river rock with thin soil. Grass is brown with occasional foot high weeds, but we decided we would rather have brown grass than sprinklers and lawn mowers. Lots of fierce mosquitoes. Dump station on a slant kept one of our holding tanks from draining properly. Significant freeway noise; one train in morning, one in evening. We would stay there again.

This is really odd. We would not ordinarily stay in a campground located between a freeway and a frontage road, but we like this place and it compares very favorably to other campgrounds in the area. There are nice willow shade trees and Prickly Pear Creek runs through; some sites are on the creek. The freeway traffic is minimal after 10 PM and we were not bothered by freeway noise during the night. We stayed 3 months in 2003 and 5 days in 2008. We will stay here again.

Seven miles east of Coeur d'Alene I-90 Exit 22, then south and west on SR 97 for about 2 miles to bridge marked Beauty Creek; just before the bridge turn left onto Forest Road 438 for about a mile. Entrance on right. Although 32 foot RV limit is mentioned, we were able to park fiver and tow vehicle (45 feet) without unhitching. This is everything a campground should be - almost. Gravel interior road, paved spurs. Spacious sites arranged along a small creek (which was dry in July). Widely spaced (30 to 50 yards) sites with underbrush separation between sites. Typical Forest Service sites with table, our favorite round steel fire rings w cooking grill. Pit toilets, no showers, no hookups of any kind. Quiet and peaceful. Wells have become contaminated, so potable water is available only in a plastic tank near entrance - no dump station. Bring tanks full and empty.

If you have a snake phobia, don't open the "free cookies" canister in the office. Manager appears spaced out, unhelpful, and cranky. Side by side sites; trees need serious trimming. Campground has horses, and features trail rides. Although there appears to be plenty of other space available, there is a horse corral 20 feet from the campground with associated odors, bugs, and biting flies. Full hookups are 1/2 price for Escapees and Passport America. We wouldn't stay here again at full price; might stay again at 1/2 price.

Close to Interstate 90 at exit 335. All sites are pull throughs. Owners have obtained consultation regarding management of previously mentioned bug problems which has been successful. Nice pool and nicest laundry facilities we have seen for a long time. Owners friendly, laid back, and helpful. Lots of rigs come in late afternoon and early evening and most leave by 7 or 8 AM. Owners explain that they are primarily an overnight campground - "Nobody wants to spend much time in Mitchell; they are all on their way to somewhere else." Quiet and peaceful. If the wind is from the wrong direction there are odors from next door horse farm. We would go there again.

The Top 20 Campgrounds in the U.S. must be a decimal error; it may be in the top 20,000? Paved interior roads, gravel sites, fairly level. Sites are fairly far apart, but not well separated. Table and nice, round concrete fire rings at each site. Most sites have 30 amp power, the few 50 amp sites are well marked in large numbers. Most sites first come, first served. Reservable sites are well marked. Inexpensive lakeside restaurant w/ good food 1/4 mile by easy trail from campground. Campground host friendly and helpful. Could be unpleasant if crowded; there are 5 rigs here the first Monday in June. We would come here again.

We agree with praise heaped on this park by others. Open all year, but flush toilets and water are shut off in winter. There is an amazing modern design pit toilet that is immaculately clean and absolutely odorless, even after some dunce left the cover up!!!! No showers. All facilities are in good repair. There are paved roads and fairly level gravel sites with our favorite round steel firepits. We had no trouble getting our 32 foot fiver and tow vehicle into one of the pull throughs, and several sites could accommodate big rigs. Host and all other personnel are friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure to be there, and we are eager to return.

Based on good reviews, we went to this park intending to stay for 3 days. The office had the most comprehensive guide to camp sites we have ever seen in 10 years of full-timing, including photos and written descriptions including details on whether or not it is necessary to back up or down a grade to get into the site. We did not actually stay there; we balked at their pricing policies. Base price for site with 30 amp power only was $22, plus $10 a day vehicle pass; $32 total. (For persons who are going to spend more time in Wisconsin State Parks there is an annual pass for $35, but it didn't help us.) We went to nearby Tom's Campground which turned out to be gorgeous and a much better value at $20 w water and 30 amp power and no daily entrance fee.

Agree with other positive reviews. Lovely, peaceful, well maintained campground. Minutes from downtown Madison, yet has country atmosphere. Convenient and well designed dump station w fresh water. Paved roads, gravel sites. Table and our favorite low, steel fire ring w grate at each site. Gets soggy but not muddy after heavy rain. Small trees don't provide much shade, but can't come crashing down during frequent thunderstorms. Very friendly and helpful staff and host. There is a marvelous farmer's market (the best we've seen) surrounding the Capitol buildings on Saturday. Frank Lloyd Wright's Monona Terrace on Lake Monona within walking distance from Capitol. About 15 miles from Camping World. We'll come here again.

Lovely park, as perfectly described elsewhere. Sites 13 to 25 back up to Forestville Creek. Round steel (truck wheel) fire rings. Pit toilets and no showers. Well maintained gravel roads and level grassy sites. Friendly and helpful owners. We would go there again.

The reviewer who mentioned deluxe concrete sites with wrought iron furniture must have been describing the Hill City KOA. This place has dusty gravel roads and gravel sites, some not very level. There are tall pines surrounding the park and scattered throughout the park, but shade is not plentiful. Campground brochure mentions PBS and major network TV, but we were only able to get a blurry FOX channel; other campers reported same. Good Verizon and AT&T cell phone signals. Lots of pull throughs, full hookup is only $3 more than water & electric site. Dump station is on an incline. Good laundry facility. Pool is quieter and less crazy than the neighboring campground to the west. Fairly typical commercial campground spacing. Mostly overnighters, with a few people staying a few days while touring the area. There are good restaurants in Custer including Purple Pie Place ice cream shop & restaurant, and Bavarian Inn Restaurant. There is a chuck wagon breakfast on KOA grounds. Staff is friendly and helpful. Propane is sold by the tank size rather than by the gallon, which I believe is deceptive and dishonest and should be illegal. We would stay here again.

2626 Spring Road, Dodgeville, WI 53533 This is a gorgeous campground located on a hill with serene panoramic views of surrounding farms and woods. Paved interior roads w level gravel sites strategically placed to not feel crowded. It feels good just to be here. Excellent maintenance. Bob, the owner / operator / host, knows everything about the surrounding area; looked after us like family. In 10 years of full-timing this is the first pro-active recycling campground we have ever seen. Each trash can has a sister recycling can that accepts most recyclables and is emptied daily. We are eager to return.

Cold Brook Lake Corps of Engineers, just north of Hot Springs, SD. No reservations, $5 fee. No hookups. A few small shade trees. Pit toilets. Located near small reservoir with swimming beach. Many open sites mid week in June. Thirteen well separated sites, fairly level. Some deer flies. We would go there again. Evans Plunge, historic indoor and outdoor pools, is located in Hot Springs.

This is a nice park. Priced at $18, $14 with senior discount, and not limited to residents of Mississippi. It is located on a 300 acre reservoir, and many sites are on the water or have water views. Many parks on a lake this size would allow oars, paddles, or sails only. This park allows ski boats and jet skis on the lower part of the lake while the upper part is a no wake zone, with a few fishermen and sailboats. All 125 sites have 50 amp power, water and sewer hookups, and all are reservable. Each site (except pull throughs) has a table and a BBQ grill. Camp fires are allowed; only a few sites had fire rings – others just built fires on the ground. Although most pads were fairly level, the land surrounding the pad was often on a slant. We were there the first weekend in May; sites were nearly full for the weekend, thinned out during the week. The campsites are in 5 sections. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and showers were adequate and clean. We saw a washer and dryer at one of the bathrooms. We would go there again. Campers, however, were the messiest we've seen anywhere; many of those who pulled out on Sunday ignored the dumpsters and left loose and bagged trash at their site or next to the (not full) dumpsters. One especially irresponsible person left a 30 gallon garbage bag of crawfish bodies on the ground next to a dumpster; animals tore into it and scattered it around the area.

About half of the sites can be reserved, the rest are first come, first served. At first glance, this is everything a campground should be. A gorgeous campground located on a small reservoir, about half of the sites are on the water and all have water views. Typically generous Forest Service site separation. Good paved interior roads, and mostly level paved pads. All weather water spigots, and 50 amp power at all sites. Nice tables, fire rings, and BBQ grills. Well maintained. The very nice bathhouse has men’s and lady’s rooms on one end and 4 private shower rooms on the other end. Lots of birds and bird songs. Frogs sing at night. Fee is $20 and, oddly, $13 with Golden Age Passport. After 4 days, some flaws appeared. A nearby Air Force Base uses the airspace for some kind of training Monday through Friday daytime, sounds like turboprop crop dusters diving and climbing. Many parks on a lake this size would allow oars, paddles, or sails only. This park allows ski boats Friday to Sunday, noon to sunset. The bathhouse has six 500 watt halogen floodlights mounted under the eaves. They emit an intense white light which attracts huge swarms of bugs which then find their way into the rooms so that interior floors and counters are covered with dead bugs; in addition to the bugs and being a grand waste of energy, it lights up the campground like the sun. A couple of 40 watt yellow fluorescent tubes would be a lot better. All in all, we would stay here again, but we can’t give it the 10 rating that it deserves.

Seven Points Campground COE, 1810 STEWARTS FERRY PIKE, Hermitage TN 37076. Information: (615)889-1975. All but one of the 60 sites are reservable in this busy park; not good for those without reservations. Large, level sites are well separated. Great showers, cleanest bath houses we have ever seen. Water and 50 amp electric at all sites. Boat launch, swimming area, laundry facilities, public telephones, cramped dump station. We will go there again.

Very nice, peaceful park on large Rend Lake reservoir. There are very few full hookup sites all located in reservable areas, but most sites have 50 amp power only. Central water available. There are 5 loops all reservable except Pin Oak loop (sites 199 to 220). Pin Oak sites are larger and better spaced than other loops. We were in Pin Oaks loop the first weekend in June, saw several open sites each day. Lots of birds. Lots of shade. Our favorite round steel fire pits and a table at each site. We will come here again.

Energy Lake Forest Service Park located at 100 Van Morgan Drive, Golden Pond, KY 42211 in the Land Between the Lakes region. [270] 924-2270 Reservable and non-reservable sites, all have 50 amp power but no other hookups. Four loops. Great showers, clean rest rooms. Small to medium size sites, mostly level, probably not suited for big rigs. Mostly families and fishermen. Lots of tents and tent trailers. Table and fire ring at each site. Very nice campground, but some planner decided it should have city type street lights. There are dump stations at the North and at the South Land Between the Lakes visitor centers; the one to the North scores an F - it is on a hillside.

We were surprised to find this expensive park nearly full in mid January, but we saw many Lincoln and Cadillac toads next to ultra-expensive rigs. Concrete streets and pads; sites very close together. Major airplane noise from nearby Air Force Base. Meticulous landscaping; gardeners with screaming leaf blowers several hours a day. Train noise. Small pool, no hot tub. No rigs older than 10 years allowed. Lots of dogs, but we noticed no barking. Propane available on site.

This is our favorite kind of campground; widely separated sites with brush & tree privacy screens. Our favorite low round steel fire rings with grates. Heated bathroom. Beautiful beach. Friendly staff. Good Verizon and AT&T signals. ReserveAmerica.com reports several sites are too narrow for slide outs; we did a careful inspection, found nothing of the kind. Most sites can do slide out and awning, a few slide out or awning. Some sites can accommodate big rigs. Turning left out of the campground there are two small shopping areas on the left side of the road about 1/2 mile away; one with Starbucks, the other with Another Broken Egg Cafe-an outstanding breakfast and lunch cafe which is closed on Mondays. We'll come here again. Street address: 357 Main Park Road, Santa Rosa Beach FL 432459

Beautiful, well maintained campground typical of Georgia State Parks. Paved interior roads are narrow and have some sharp turns. Sites are level. Senior discounts available. We had good cell phone signals for AT&T and Verizon and for Verizon Air Card. A few poor reception TV channels. We will stay here again. Portions of the park were built by the CCC. Considering that this park is located in a city environment, this is a very nice park. Very close to Columbia. All sites are full hookups with 30/50 amp power. Pay Wi-Fi and free cable TV. Sites are level and have 30 foot separation between sites. Well maintained except for some badly warped picnic tables. A few long term folks, most with attractive appearance and no piles of junk. Concrete patio pads. The rooster seems to have lost the ability to keep track of time, now crows weakly in the afternoon--senility?? Those who want a pool should choose a RV Park Resort. Many reviewers think of this park as an overnight only. It has wonderful surroundings with gorgeous land, sky (Big Sky), and surrounding mountains. A five star hot spring resort with two good restaurants is a quarter mile up the road, We agree with all the positive comments by other reviewers. The lack of campfire rings is a moot point; open fires have been prohibited in Montana for years because of drought and wildfires. Good Sam and Passport America rates are low. Garmin StreetPilot users will find this destination is 1.5 miles off; instead of making the right turn immediately after the freeway exit, keep going straight and watch for signs, but either way will get you there.

This is a lovely lakeside campground located just west of the town of Akeley MN with clearly marked signage off highway 34. Nearly all are waterfront sites with 30 amp power, water, table, and fire ring. Dump station at entrance. Clean & quiet, no road noise or trains. People are fishing in the spring fed Lake Crow Wing 11. Friendly staff.

Signs were good coming from the west except for the last one; the arrow looked like a 45 degree turn ahead slanting to the left when it is actually a 90 degree left turn right there. It is a nice campground. No highway noise. Nice lake views. Trains: one track in the distance on the north side of I-94, second track 50 yards from campground. Trains on the closer track go by fast and sound like they are coming right through the window, but fortunately few went by at night.

This is everything a campground should be. Very large sites very well separated and very private. Large shade trees. Bathrooms and showers are heated, clean, and the best we have seen anywhere. No rocks or posts to impede parking.

This is an Olympic National Park campground. Gravel roads, one rest room with flush toilets, no showers, no hookups. It is located on a bluff 50 feet above the ocean with great ocean views and one row of 3 or 4 rows is on the waterfront. Wide beach with large accumulation of driftwood which is OK to gather and burn. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. Sites are very close together (on top of each other) and there are no trees or bushes to separate the sites--no one seemed to mind; everyone was busy fishing, walking the beach, flying kites, looking at the ocean, building and tending camp fires, etc. No reservations-hooray-it fills by Friday on summer weekends. A calm, happy place; we would go there again. There is a small store, a very good restaurant with ocean views, and expensive fuel at nearby Kalaloch Lodge.

This park is described in different guides and on different signs as either a Fishing Access Site, State Recreation Area, or State Park. It is located on the north side of I-94 and there are good signs pointing the way. It is at the end of 15th Avenue at the Yellowstone River. There is a day use area and boat ramp on the river. The water was visible and audible from our campsite. Interior roads are gravel, sites are large and well separated, and there are many large pull throughs suited for big rigs although official descriptions suggest a 25 foot limit. There are tables and fire rings at each site although open fires in Montana have been prohibited for several years because of drought and wildfires. There are pit toilets. Some sites have all weather water faucets while others have no water. There are large trees and lots of shade. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon in August; less than 6 sites filled. The rate varies from $12 for non-residents to $3.50 for senior residents holding fishing licenses. Although it lacks amenities, it is a very nice park and we would stay here again.

We used an AAA discount for a 4 day stay. There are wide asphalt streets and wide level concrete pads which are easy to enter and to exit. There are 12 feet of luxurious grass lawn between sites. We are full timers; this is one of the nicest RV parks we have ever been to. The sewer hookups are at the rear edge of the sites; we used 20 feet of hose to connect. Now a few words about the airport; the park is near the landing and takeoff pattern of a very busy airport. On a Sunday afternoon and evening we timed takeoffs at every 2 minutes for 4 hours. On two of our 4 days four fighters took off in mid-morning--they sure make a lovely racket. We did not find the airport noise bothersome during the night. We like airplanes, like to watch them take off and land. We thought the gardener's leaf blower on Monday morning was more annoying than the airplanes; they should give him a rake, broom and hose instead. Maybe that's the price for having such nice lawns. We are giving the park a 10 rating as an RV park; readers should subtract from our rating according to how much they are bothered by airport noise.

Wide asphalt interior roads with no obstructions make it easy to back into narrow gravel sites. Not much room for toad or tow vehicle; we were permitted to park in a vacant site across the road. Sites are narrow, about 8 feet from each other, but small cedar trees between sites smell delicious and offer surprising amount of privacy. Some sites are not level. Cable TV is crystal clear, voltage right on at 120, water pressure 40. Staff are calm and friendly. Washington State Parks Mt. St. Helens Visitor Center is 3 miles away--skip that and go on to breathtaking National Monument centers at Coldwater Ridge and Johnston Ridge about 50 miles away on excellent and beautiful road. Great hamburgers and cobblers at 19 Mile House Restaurant which has deck seating overlooking a river.

This is another favorable review. Sites near the front are gravel back-ins, those in the back are wide, grassy, level pull-throughs. Owners are friendly and helpful. We were told that Wi-Fi is best near the office, variable in the back. We were in the back, able to connect; our neighbor was not able to connect. A Good Sam park. The unsightly run-down permanent sites along the side were not a problem.

We agree with other's descriptions of the campground. In addition to the campground, this large state park has well preserved army fort. There are nature programs on the grounds, excellent especially for kids. Port Townsend is a lovely waterfront town with Victorian buildings and fine restaurants and shopping. Locals told us the area was economically depressed while other towns were doing redevelopment by tearing down old buildings, then realized the value of their ambience and preserved their heritage.

Well run park with wide, level gravel roads and sites. Trees are too short for shade. We used Passport America, were placed at an average site near the middle of the campground. Passport America is unlimited except for holidays and "special events"! There is a railroad track running right past the front of the park; we were there 3 days--one small slow train went by in the afternoon of one day and none at night. A Frank Lloyd Wright house is open for tours at Oregon Garden, a short distance away. Eighty acre Oregon garden is a wondrous place, don't miss it. Nearby Silver Falls State Park has marvelous hiking trails. Nearby Salem has a Woolen Mill museum--Heritage Museum. Watch for spectacular brightly colored fields of flowers on the way to and from the campground.

We have been full timing for 10 years and have stayed in many types of campgrounds. In our prior experiences with county campgrounds, they have been either very bad or very good with little in between. Salt Creek is one of the very best campgrounds we have ever been to. Sites are level and easy to get into and out of; no rocks, posts, etc. Ocean views from the hook-up area are spectacular. The sites in the wooded no hook up area are mostly short, but there are about a dozen sites that would accommodate a 30+ foot rig. In order to reach the dump station, must go through a 12' 5" tunnel, too low for our 12' 10" rig. Campground host says it is possible to back the 0.1 mile into the dump station; we chose to dump at our next destination. Most RVs had Washington license plates; fellow campers were unusually quiet and considerate. No reservations-hooray! Starts to fill up mid-afternoon and full by Thursday evening for the weekend.

This park is part of the Belknap Hot Springs complex; the main Belknap park is reviewed separately and is one mile away. This is an excellent park with both sunny and shaded sites, usually not heavily used except holiday weekends. Staying at this park entitles you to use the Belknap Hot Springs which ordinarily costs $21 a day for two, so the actual extra cost for the campground is then $5-a bargain! Sites are relatively large and back-in parking is easy; no posts, rocks, bushes, etc. in the way. It is quiet and the surroundings are pleasant. There are a few important quirks. Some sites are 30 amps, others 50. Site 2 has no sewer hookup. There is a laundry with the odd requirement that you fill the machine with water from a pail for the rinse cycle. There is a prominent Camp Host sign on a building near the entrance, but no notice that the host is only present on weekends. Propane is available at the park when host is present.

There are a wide variety of camp sites in this park. The map of the park made it appear that the full hookup sites were jammed together, so we looked at water & electric sites first. The full hookup sites were actually well spaced with concrete pad, and many sites were shaded by large trees so we chose to stay there. There is a store, a laundry, boat rentals, and many optional services. There are 7% grades between Santa Barbara and the campground. We would stay here again.

This park's address is 153 East Bank Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819 but it is accessed through Chattahoochee, FL. This is everything a park should be. Paved access roads, large level well separated gravel sites are easy to get into and have a large gravel space for good picnic tables, our favorite low round fire rings, and a charcoal grill. Most sites have lake view and many are waterfront sites. Campground hosts are excellent, organized a Christmas pot luck dinner. Although most things are in working order, funding appears to have suffered under the Bush administration. The heated restrooms and showers were not cleaned well or often. Galvanized pipe grab bars in the shower haven't been painted for a long time and are beginning to rust. There are two bath houses. One has been closed for 3 months because of foundation problems which have made the walls unstable and unsafe. Plans are to tear it down and eventually replace the two with a larger facility. The remaining bath house has one washer and one dryer. ANTS We were here about 3 years ago; there were hordes of tiny Argentine ants which we successfully managed by placing granular ant bait on ant hills, by spraying the utility post, and by keeping hose and power cable off the ground in addition to my usual ant immunization which is described later. We were warned by the RV Park Reviews site and also by campground host over the phone before arrival in mid-December--"The drought and mild weather have made them worse than ever." When asked how campers deal with the problem they said that some use a garden hose insecticide sprayer to treat the site with Spectracide before parking, some spread Comet or borax around wheels & jacks, some put Vaseline on 18 inches of hose and cable--"They won't cross it." Another person said spreading granular fire ant bait all over the site before parking is effective. We arrived fully armed, inspected our site before parking, saw no ants--not even one! Someone before us must have treated the site. But then we didn't see anyone else having ant problems either; hosts said they didn't understand it, but a spell of cool weather might have reduced the ant problem. We didn't see a single ant-not one-at our site during a 10 day stay. Hooray! :-) We would mention ant problems but not down rate a park because of it. If the bathrooms were in better order we would rate this park a 10. Visitors should make up their own minds how distressed they would be and act accordingly. My routine ant immunization procedures: Spectracide, a clear liquid, seems to work well. I spray all over under the trailer where ants can crawl from the ground. Tires, wheels, springs, jacks & stabilizers, sewer pipe, and especially the longitudinal support girders and pipes that the ants use as highways. A half gallon of spray did the job and it didn’t even smell bad. It lasted for years. Spreading Comet on the ground or trying to seal them out doesn't work. Keeping hoses and electric lines off the ground helps. Fire ants are a separate problem; they sting, so it’s a good idea to wear socks when they are present—Texas natives recommend ANDRO ant bait (from Wal-Mart) placed on mounds.
